Friday, December 07, 2007updates from the twilight zone..it's been so long since i last posted here, that i wonder if anyone actually still reads this blog *LOL* This plus the fact that my comments page is so bloody wonky I'm getting pissed too. >.< Nonetheless I've figured out how to switch over the blogger commenting, since blogger's comments service is finally stable and customizable enough. Right now all I'm doing is waiting till ENETATION gets back online so I can take off all my comments for all those old posts, then I will incorporate blogger's code in =) Patience my friends... =) Right now it's what stanford calls 'dead week' where the entire school goes into hibernation and starts mugging liek there's no tomorrow *LOL* I swear this place beats my old JC hands down when it comes to mugging - I've never seen such a huge congregation of chow-mugger angmohs haha. Though it's almost understandable since the sch term is 10 weeks long, and to give you a sense of the tightness of the schedule - well, i just completed 4 grp projects in the last week, finished 3 pieces of homework that i handed up today, and next week there will be 5 finals T_T gah, someone kill me now T_T haha Also, some interesting things about stanford that i've been meaning to post up - 1. there's too many palm trees here - carefully tended tall thingies that would otherwise be dead in the cold. I swear 90% of each student's school fees goes into maintaining these tress *sigh* I really could do with free printing instead of more palm trees >.< 2. the school mascot is a tree - which makes for extreme hilarity when you're watching a football game and this prancing green paper monstrosity with manga-esque eyes trounces out into the field during half time. I guess it's better than a dancing blob of red, since this school technically has no animal mascot - the actual mascot is 'cardinal', that particular shade of red.... LOL I think the original school founders didnt' think very far when they considered mascots. All schools need a fierce animal totem to get them far in sports, just look at the big 10 schools with their badgers, bears, wolverines etc etc etc. Somehow when you're fighting and a tree is rooting for you (pun not intended LOL) it just doesn't quite cut it *grin* 3. nonetheless, all those criticisms said and done, this is really a gorgeous campus; and when you cycle around, it feels like a very fancy east coast park. Provided you replace the rain trees with palm trees. I'll post photos eventually.....when the dead week ends =) On other things, let's see....found many cool links. Some are vids on youtube, others are movie recs, and then there are the random good blogs etc etc etc =) Enjoy =) youtube galore.. vid of an extremely cute kitten japanese show of kittens in claypots O_o a revised version of jerryC's canon rock - very impressive guitar solo hilarious vid which answers the question - would the world's fastest walker run? eddie izzard's stellar clip on Death Star Canteen (so funny ROFL) good reads.. Watch on aznv.tv or crunchyroll.com. Hiroki Narimiya stars in this *_* =) Oh-Oku - gorgeous movie featuring the fantastic Nakama Yukie (the lead) About palace intrigue, betrayal, love etc etc in the hidden inner palace of women in the Tokugawa era. Her acting here is impeccable, it's all about the eyes..*sigh* We were totally sucked in by all the glossed-over bitching between the concubines and the queen. A definite must see, though skip this if you are looking for action. We also totally fell in love witht eh gorgeous kimonos *_* Again, go to aznv.tv or crunchyroll.com to watch it. Be careful to choose the movie and not the drama. SHINOBI - XMEN meets japanese ninja clans meets romeo and juliet. Very interesting and gorgeous movie. Nakama Yukie is gorgeous as usual. Those eyes, OMG. This was almost hilarious at some parts because of the X-Men similarity, though somehow there was this something in the movie which reminded me of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. A sort of understated beauty. Of course it helps that the lead guy is rather cute *LOL* En might or might not like this... *grin* Aznv and crunchyroll has it, but if you're a youtube fan, try here. =) stardusted at 3:45 AM | link? 0 Call me number 1!© sephirot productions 2008 |
