Harry and the Potters anyone? Or how about Draco and the Malfoys? The Remus Lupins? The Moaning Myrtles? The Whomping Willows?

If you're wondering what these are, they are up-and-coming indie bands I dug up on MySpace, thanks to that one song rec from PL by Harry and the Potters. After some quick Googling (google is your friend =)) I found a whole collection of them. It's almost amusing how they pick random character names or things and make a band name, and then proceed to write songs following the certain theme they've chosen. And for your convenience I've recced some of my favourites:

Harry and the Potters
By far one of the bigger ones around that are actually on tour and all that. It's 2 brothers singing songs from the perspective of Harry Potter.

Saving Ginny Weasley is my favourite:
'Are you petrified of being petrified...We've got to save ginny weasley from the basilisk, we've got to save the school again'

For some reason that reminds me of Draco saying 'Harry-bloody-I-have-to-save-the-world-Potter'. *lololol*


Draco and the Malfoys
Another band which has songs from our favourite lil' slytherin prince =) The songs aren't very tune-y IMO but i LOVE the lyrics =) There are titles like 'My Dad is Rich' and 'Potions Yesterday' =)

My Dad is Rich:
'My dad is always there, to open all the doors.
you have to cast a patronus just to catch a glimpse of yours.
My mom, she loves me, and she tucks me into bed.

My dad is rich and your dad is dead' *ROTFL* i love this song.

Potions Yesterday:
'You messed up in potions yesterday, but everyone still thinks you're really great

*ROTFL* omg this is killing me =)

Remus and the Lupins
This one has WEIRD music. But i do liek the one song - expecto patronum. It's so happy =) This one especially ithink is worth a download =) i like the arrangemnts on all the songs so do give them a listen. =)

The Remus Lupins
Similarly named but very different musically. I like the singer's voice =) My favourite here is Origin. Very listenable music.

The Moaning Myrtles
By far my favourite out of the lot since I think the two girls can sing rather well and I like the Ben Folds Five flavour. ALso bloody hilarious, esp. if you are a fangirl, you will totally appreciate the lyrics.

Flushed:
'I was sitting in my stall, like any other day

I don't know what i did but I'll do anything to get away from that big old giant squid.

Then Harry showed up soaking wet - maybe i won't leave just yet!
So i helped him with his task and he flashed me a smile
Harry, he is such a stud so i stared for awhile' *LOLOL*

Prefects are Hot (my favourite):
There's a really neat trick i learned when you're dead
You can walk through walls and not hurt your head
Bedrooms and bathrooms are all fair game
So i followed some prefects and spied without shame

Bathrooms are great places for peep shows
Cedric Diggory's really hot without his clothes
He knew i was watching but he didn't seem to mind
Death is way more fun with bubbles, that's what i say

Prefects are freakin' hot in any season -
You know they call me moaning myrtle for a reason.

Then I saw Harry, and I said hey

I hope that Harry drowns tomorrow in the lake
(somethigni coulnd't catch about honeymoons)
But what's better than that is we don't get STDs!' *LOLOL* so sleazy but so good hahahah.


The Whomping Willows
This is mainly here because of that one song called 'Harry and Draco'. And yes, meant that way, and i couldn't resist putting it in =)hehehehe Basically it sounds like the quintissential HD fic in a song *lolol*
