happy new year!

back from holiday, and we are now in the midst of tidying up our group holiday blog so it is fit for reading *lol* meanwhile, what better way to start off the new year than with a summary of the old? *lol*

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
wrote letters, told truths, practiced patience and fell long and hard. If this was next year's quiz I'd add that i'd been to a hospital and got put on a drip too *lolol*

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
nope ^^;;;;;;;;;;;

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
no. O-o

4. Did anyone close to you die?
...grandparents...

5. What countries did you visit?
New York, though it's a city ^^;;;; Didn't go anywhere >.<

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
granted wishes perhaps.

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Random jaunts from february to june. Because they were the closest thing to perfection I'd ever enjoyed. My 21st birthday. Because special people made it so much more memorable.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
learnt patience and trust. perhaps some selflessness. unfortunately.

9. What was your biggest failure?
not having the courage to do what i really should.

10.Did you suffer illness or injury?
not reaally, unless you count the bad one on the last day of 2005 which carried over to 2006 haha.

11.What was the best thing you bought?
hm. tough. I know! My pda ^^ *huggles*

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
er. Huh???? Don't really get this question.

13.Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Mine and an other, perhaps.

14.Where did most of your money go?
shopping for books, clothes and the NYC trip T_T

15.What did you get really, really, really excited about?
NYC trip ^^/ and empty promises.

16.What song will always remind you of 2005?
hm. A few songs. but likely to be zhi zu, ya guan and zhi ming yu chun jiao by wu yue tian.

17.Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
happier and sadder. and getting numb.

18.What do you wish you'd done more of?
forgot.

19.What do you wish you'd done less of?
thinking.

20.How did you spend Christmas?
expensive dinner at the Harrison!!! Hahaha. Talking over wine.. girly stuff ^^

22.Did you fall in love in 2005?
I'd love to quote raydance again, but that would be pushing it since pl has already beaten me to it *lol* pity, it was so apt though ^^ ah well, this then. not really related but good enough. from darling epheriel, who seems to find the nicest song lyrics *lol*:

Hm. Paradise Kiss if you count anime, else friends ^^

let's just say it's a love-hate relationship. *lol*

*aghast* you know, come to think about it, i think i hardly read anything this year ((O_O)) or rather i can't really remember anything *lol* OH right i remember now. Finished Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar Tapestry (a trilogy). Read it. Fantastic ^^

27.What was your greatest musical discovery?
i think it has to be The Tears and Aqualung ^^

28.What did you want and get?
Er. My suede cd collection, various music cds, dvds...yadayadayada. Nothing special *lol*

29.What did you want and not get?
the usual nbk related things. *lol*

30.What was your favorite film of this year?
Finding Neverland...

31.What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
21 *lol* Wonderful people (thanks all!) singing a song for me over a amusingly decorated icecream cake (thanks gena). epheriel calling and singing the zoo version of the bday song over the phone from sg.... *lolol* Also lunch and special cookies *lol*

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
hah. many things. all of which would never actually happen the way you want it to anyway *tsk*

33.How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
hm. casual with some random emulating of the zara/esprit/h&m concepts *lol* (i.e. i bought alot of clothes from there *lolol*)

34.What kept you sane?
dear friends. you know who you are. thanks so much ^^ and my family...

35.Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
johnny depp!!!!!

36.What political issue stirred you the most?
the van nguyen thing. that one really really riled me up big time O_o give it a rest already. *sheeeeeesh*

37.Who did you miss?
family, and the same dear friends....

38.Who was the best new person you met?
hm. hm. hm. i think my ex-groupmate, dena. funkiest person ever *lol*

39.Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
that "all you need is love" is perhaps the most nonsensical, idealistic phrase of all.
