Friday, April 16, 2004princess moonjust watched a very sweet show on the tv. Called Princess Moon, part of a series of award winning scripts by singaporean writers. And i thought this one was fantastic ^^ Here's a synopsis from the local tv station: Princess Moon is a coming of age story about first love and innocence loss, seen through the eyes of a thirteen year old narrator, Steven. Like many kids, Steven struggles through school. Luckily he is good in English but its still not good enough for his mother, and he dreads it every time he has to show his report card to his mom, because an F would mean a dose of caning. Steven remarks wryly that maybe his mother thinks that caning would provide a dose of Potter magic that would transform him into a brilliant student but being already thirteen years old, maybe he was just too old for magic. Stevens dad is not as hard on him as his mom. Stevens dad likes to watch action movies with him. And he bought a telescope so he could show and teach his son about the moon and the universe. Stevens dad is a hardworking engineer who gets retrenched and has to find part time work as a cab driver later. In school, Steven falls in love with a thirteen year old girl, he describes as a princess, with hair blacker than chin chow and skin smoother than bean curd. This girl often wears a sweater, which puzzles Steven. Steven goes through pangs of infatuation, as he wonders how he can win the hand of his princess, and he seeks advice from his friends, one of whom tells him that the way to hook a girl is to rub her ear lobe. As Steven works up enough courage to finally ask his princess if she would like to see the moon with him, he discovers the reason why his princess is always wearing a sweater, and what she has been hiding. Will he win the hand of his princess? --- It was a very very sweet movie *lol* Not to mention very quotable *lol* Steven is precocious, and very very cute *lolol* It's puppy love at its sweetest *grin* You begin by laughing yourself silly over thirteen year old boys in awe over the mystery of 'Girls'. Then Steven falls in love, and the thing becomes sweeter than honey *lol* It was a lovely way of exploring the concept love. I mean, what better than through the eyes of a totally newbie? *grin* But the ending was sooooo sad T_T She left never came back again!! *sigh* Ah well *haha* And here's some quotes *grin* there were alot more, but I forgot ^^; steven: i love her, more than a googol of stars. No, more than all the stars you see here tonight. More than beancurd, even more than chocolate ice cream! No, no, that doesn't sound right. Dad, how do you measure love? Dad: Well, I think you measure it by the size of the hole the person leaves behind. And later, when she left, And when my princess was gone, she left a crater in a my heart. *melts* too sweet *hahahaha* So flu-ffy XD stardusted at 9:57 AM | link? 0 Call me number 1!© sephirot productions 2008 |
