Mood: Accomplished. Ve-ry accomplished. ^_^

*big grin* Spent the first half of today scanning in some rare Mamiya Oki artwork that I've been dying to digitalise for awhile. Spent the next few hours creating a home network so that I can transfer my files from Remmie-chan to Ol'Desktop and back *grin* Am also completing long LONG replies to Stejuste and all you sweet people *muah* So, here goes ^^ Stejuste's reply is right at the end, to spare you guys from needing to go through the long exchange *haha*

A little observation - Quite a few people seem to be so taken in by mine and Stejuste's gushing that they're starting to get hooked onto LOTR:

Shu: Oh about the previous suggested TTT viewing, heh, I'm thinking of buying my own copy now...since you and Stejuste have been squealing all over it....gawd, you evil temptresses you two...

raydance: what scares me more is that i actually went to click through all the picture links. and i'm not even that hot on Orlando. (slowly being converted though.)

ningz: you are getting me crazy over lotr too!

Gee, perhaps I should go into Marketing. *lol*

masque:
please please please lend me your queer eye episodes! *grovel grovel*

Sure ^^ As soon as I burn it on CDR ^^ Actually, you can dl it off kazaa, they've got up to ep 13 now, and it's quite fast.

en:
agree with that comment on the obsession... =) it scares me, but i like the bent pic. honestly. it looks so fun. now i'm aware i just put my foot in my mouth.

*wide-eyed* Did I just read correctly? En actually likes the bent pics??? *rotfl* Wow. That's new XD XD

mad hatter:
ooer. you've got it -bad-. *laffs* did you got hold of a marathon ticket?

*lol* Nope. I didn't. ^^ Didn't make sense to go watch it in the cinema when I've got the dvds at home. All mine. Mine. *heh heh*

nat:
hey...whats the responsibility tts bugging you? dun worry ok? anyway, i dun think ur comments box is working too well, u see, as when we make a comment, it still shows on the screen 'no pretty boys spotted' whereas, the comments are still here in the box...u get what i mean? so u must have missed out on some of our comments...just sharing it wif u so u knoe! happy holidays!

Er, well, it's just...responsibilities ^^;;; There's certain things that cannot be typed on blogs for safety's sake ^^;;; Yeah, my comments box kinda sucky now, for some reason, ah well. *lol* I can't fix it so I'll just wait for it to fix itself ^^ On the other hand, it is probably a good thing that the comments box keeps registering no comments. This way more poepl will comment *lol* Don't worry, I don't usually miss out on comments unless you comment on a really old post *grin* I do check back the latest few posts quite often ^^

Stejuste:
wow! my first long reply in ages! i really managed to stick to my vow to try to cut down on my lengthy replies, didn't i? *pats self on back proudly* not easy for the naturally long-winded to shut up, you know :))))

*lolol* And now it is my turn to try and cut down. Though judging by the content (LOTR Slash) and all, it's a lost case already. XD So brace yourself. XD XD

hang in there, you can do it! *pat pat* :) just think of Orli and Viggo running up and down mountains with cracked ribs and broken toes! Viggo apparently had this banner stuck in his trailer. It said, "ADAPT AND OVERCOME". that was so Viggo i couldn't stop laughing :)

*lol* Yup, that picture of them whining like spoilt brats just cracks me up everytime. That and the white light. *rotflmao* I loved Viggo's quote though. Shall go copy in my lil' quote book ^^

thanks! don't kill yourself looking for it though. i never even thought of checking amazon for it, doh. i shall try there as well.

*lol* I meant to get it for your Xmas prezzie actually, so do me a favour and not go looking, yes? *lolol* Though if I can't find it, you'll ust have to settle for something else. *grin* Anything in particular you would love? ^^

you got it! :) sorry but it will probably be late though. i ordered it this afternoon as soon as i saw your reply, but because it's close to christmas the shipping will probably be slow. it is supposed to arrive in about 2 weeks or so, so it probably won't get to you in time for the 25th. let me know what you think of the dvd when you finally watch it - strangely, i don't seem to have any desire to see it myself, but i may get it if you think it's decent.

Mou, sankyuuu dear!!! *grin* Nah, late presents don't bother me at all *grin* Presents at any time of the year and in any form make me really really happy *glomps* I've heard pretty good reviews, and I loved the book, so I'm betting it'd be at least decent *grin*

oh my god. i have those too! i use the plastic bags for trash bags, of course, and i keep the postcards and brochures for souvenirs. oh dear >.< :) *laughing* imagine corresponding with each other when we're 80 years old. "hey! rie! trade you the LOTR movie ticket for the Neverwhere dvd receipt!" *snort* :)

*snickers* it'll be really really sad if we ever get to that point. *rotfl* I just cleared my room, and threw away lots of stuff (finally) so I'm quite proud of myself. I tend to keep stuff for nostalgia. *lol* Can't bear to throw anything away cos i keep thinking I'll lose an important memory/potentially useful thing in the process. *lol*

ah, thank you thank you! i kept not getting around to researching it. will go check out those links when i get a chance. yah, piracy definitely not good ^^; i think it ought to be okay in a "fair use" sort of way if you only extract a short clip here and there (like nice slashy scenes from Gia or whatever O:^) - it would still be done without permission, but would probably be small fry enough that people wouldn't bother chasing you over it. also, if one isn't distributing massively but simply sending a little 1 minute clip to just one friend... whether by diskette or by dcc... O:^)

*rotflmao* Ah. Of course. XD Funny though, seeing you innocently dismiss potential piracy in above comment reminded me of the scene towards the end of TTT where Pippin and Merry discovered Saruman's secret larder. *rotfl* You know, the bit where they decided to keep the discovery of pipeweed secret? *lolol*

LOL! i do enjoy the movies, but i really think i love the behind-the-scenes stuff more. i get such a kick out of seeing the fun they had behind the scenes, and how they tease each other. i think the people who worked on LOTR were probably the luckiest of all - the other blockbusters were definitely not as fun.

*lol* I'm the opposite. *grin* Most behind-the-scenes stuff is soooo boring!!! ^^;;; LOTR is an exception of course ^^ My first motivation was seeing potentially slashy moments between the cast *rotfl* But now that I've watched LOTR's extras, I'm beginning to have really high expectations for DVD-extras. *lol* I think I'm being spoiled ^^

i've seen the featurettes for x-men, phantom menace, and matrix, and the atmosphere was quite different. definitely depends on the director of the movie, i think - the vibes really work from the top down. peter jackson was cool so everyone had fun.

I totally agree. I think the main reason why HP didn't succeed as well as LOTR was due to this reason. I mean, Peter LOVED LOTR. ^^/

x-men was the worst - bryan singer was this arrogant little snot and there was hardly any smiling or laughter on his set at all - everyone was very quiet and businesslike and looked like they were dying to finish and go home. sad, very sad :} :)

Ewwwww. Ian must've been so relieved to get out of the set - no cute guys, no chubby hobbit director....*rotfl*

re. intellectual look: that immediately makes me think of YnM's Tatsumi for some reason :>

naturally. *rotfl* You know me well indeed ^__^

ROTFL!!! :) i think the movie probably was quite disjointed to begin with, because there really wasn't all that much to be cut from it, even by Sg censors :> there was a sex scene with the Telfer woman, and a sex scene with the mysterious girl, and a few bare butts when the terrified rich people ran screaming from the satanic mass after Balkan killed the Telfer woman. that was it - the rest was just Depp wandering around trying to figure things out.

i personally thought of the girl as the Devil. i've heard that Polanski said in his audio commentary on the dvd that the girl is "probably either the Devil or his messenger/assistant" - i haven't bothered to listen to the commentary myself so can't confirm that, but it makes the most sense.

Boris Balkan was the guy who originally wanted to accomplish this - he just hired Depp to get him the real book since he suspected his copy was inaccurate. Satan must have favored Depp over Balkan for whatever reason, since Satan kept helping Depp throughout the movie. or sent his minion to help Depp, depending on your preference.

of course we don't know what happens when you get to meet Satan - for people like Balkan, they would usually be thinking in terms of "i want to rule the world and be all-powerful" etc. but that may not be it at all. for all you know meeting Satan may simply mean that you get thrown into Hell forever, the end :)

at any rate just because Satan is helping Depp, it doesn't mean that Depp is going to have a happy ending :) but i prefer to think that Depp wins at the end, rather than loses, because of the way his character develops through the film. he starts out as a small time jerk, and by the end he has become very cold, much stronger and much more "evil", if you want to call it that. so you could say that maybe Satan saw Depp's potential and decided that he might make a good protege :)

anyway - Depp having sex with the devil, or the devil's minion, at the end of the movie, was essentially the last "trial". him walking into the white light represents him passing through the final ninth gate and going to meet the devil, i suppose.

Hmm. that's what puzzles me the most, actually. I think I was confused by the ending imagery, where you see Depp walking into a gateway shining with golden light. It didn't strike me as something sinister...^^;;; So I guess I was confused, since, as you know, golden light usually means positive things, not negative, like hell and all. i didn't notice the bit you mentioned about Depp's character developing. I guess I was too busy drooling. *rotfl* But yes, now that you've said it, I think you're probably right ^^ it's the best reason for why the ending seems so positive ^^

eh, seriously man. i don't know what i'm going to do when it's over. i didn't feel anything like this for the Matrix. it was cool, but okay, now it's over. but LOTR! crap! i don't know what to do!!! i guess will just have to start checking out The Hobbit and praying peter jackson makes another good one. but that's only one more film :( no, dammit, i stick to my original idea - they need to turn it into a soap opera, so we can get weekly doses of our favorite LOTR boys!!!! yes!!!!! :)))))))))))

What we really need is a realisty TV show titled "The LOTR boys". *big grin* They could have a competition to see which couple snogs the most in a day, which couple is the cutest etc etc etc.......I want to see lots of things. I want to see the Queer Eye people descend on all the boys - they won't need any makeovers, but I've always wondered what Carson would do if he met up with the boys. *lol* Probably fondle all of them liberally or somethign *rotfl* Also want to see Orli and Viggo get Punk'D. *ROTFLMAO* And I want to see the LOTR version of Love Actually!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *drowns in drool* (about here, rie realises she's totally, irrevocably, off her rocker ^^:::::::::::)

what is RPS???

*grin* RPS stands for Real Person Slash ^^ the name is self-explanatory *rotfl*

actually... this is my theory at present : elijah is definitely either gay or bi - he was rumored to be definitely gay then started being seen with females more, so he is either doing damage control or actually bi. either way he's most probably open to m/m. judging from his behavior in that video clip, viggo is definitely open, period! *grin* and Orli reminds me a great deal of Ewan McGregor - they are very similar in a lot of ways - both sort of quite normal brit boys, but happy with their looks and success and not averse to enjoying whatever they are offered in the bedroom :)

For the hobbits and Orli, i think they're at that age where open enough to experimentation, and they are young enough to be less careful about how they are perceived by their public - for all we know, someone may have straight out asked Ian or Haldir or Elijah if it was true they were gay, or what it was like, and maybe there was some playful flirting and teasing. then they all became so close anyway through the years of filming that they developed that kind of close physicality in their friendships on top of everything.

so actually yeah, half the time i don't think there's anything to it at all, just a lot of closeness and openness and maybe some young experimentation. (the guys in my years in school were all very physical with each other. they'd lie around on each other like puppies, give each other backrubs, even make innuendo-type jokes. but if you ever suggested there might be gayness in there, whooo! wait for the roof to fall down! they'd be completely horrified and furious at the suggestion! LOL! :)

however, if anyone were to produce definitive proof of their gayness, i would be overjoyed and ecstatic *grin* (eh... but that would probably mean no gorgeous little baby Orlis to carry on those gorgeous cheekbone genes.... *hmmmm* :)

you're spot on about the Ewan bit. *grin* orli reminds me alot of Ewan. *lol* i think everyone in LOTR is just really really open. *rotfl* I also think Elijah is definitely going for damage control. XD XD Another reason why the cast is so open may be because of the times. I mean, 20 years ago, no actor would actually come out and do this, would they? However, now, due to the queer-revival in US, i guess it's become rather cool to keep people guessing. *lolol* And fangirls have become so much more perverted than before...*rotflmao*

My final theory is still this: One of the cast came across the LOTR slash fans and shared it with the others, thus resulting in lots of tongue-in-cheek expressions of lurve. *rotfl* But seriously, though, it's prolly cos they're just by nature really open and affectionate, and since the cast is extremely close, this is just their way of expressing their close ties ^^

I finally watched the vids that night, and I realised, when they asked Orli whether he has ever did -IT- in public, he paused for a significant amount of time before saying 'no comment' *rotfl* Liv, however, said no straight out XD Makes you wonder exactly what he was thinking at that time...*rotfl*

eh. i only watched the viggo vid, haven't seen any of the others. what IT?????!!! *jumps up and down* tell! tell! tell! :)

*rotfl* I think IT refers to snogging or something more in public *rotfl* You should've seen him. He really paused for quite a bit. He actually started to say something, then paused and said 'No Comment' instead. *rotfl*

also, try clicking that Awesome picture in previous post again ^^ If you really can't see it, they I'll email it to you ^^

Whoo. That was long ^^ Btw, Stejuste, have you located the secret clip in the TTT extended yet? to do so, put in the first disc. Then, go to 'Select a scene' and go to the last page. After highlighting the last entry ont he last page, press 'Down'. A picture will appear at the bottom. Select it and press enter ^^ It's a clip of Gollum accepting his MTV movie award *ROTFL* Look out for the reference to Dobby XD XD XD
