Driving! Driving!

Heh, Finally got a chance to try out my dad's car today. *grin* Took it for a drive around the more desolate areas near my house, and then went on to try a short stretch of expressway before practising my parking and fetching sis home *lol* I found it quite ok, although I couldn't really see the back cos my dad's car has a really high behind ^^;;;;;; So I was like doing some serious estimating while parking *lol* Dear ol' dad kept waving his hands around and shouting 'Slow down! Slow down!" even when I wasn't going fast at all ^^;; And he kept asking me to brake. *lol* I think it took him lots of self-control not to wrench his beloved car out of my control. *rotfl*

Windows XP tweak alert!

*heh* Just discovered this really easy tweak for XP. It ensures that your comp doesn't slow down to disgusting speeds after using it for six months. *grin* That happened to a few of my friends, so here's how to fix it. Basically you have to disable 'Indexing Services'. It's one of those windows utilities that run in the background, maintaining this 'cache' of your hard disk. And after some time, this file sorta grows exponentially to horrific proportions, slowing down everything. The best part is, all this does is to make your file searches faster. And you don't even need to search for files if you know where everything is ^^;;;; when you need to actuallys earch, it just takes a little longer, is all. Totally useless utility. ^^;; So, to turn it off:

Go to Control Panel>>Administration Services>>Services

Scroll down somewhere to the middle where you see the line 'Indexing Services'. Right-click, go to properties, and select 'Disable'. That should do the trick.

TweakXP.com actually recommended uninstalling it totally, but I think just disabling it would be safer..*lol*

And to tweak other stuff, do check out the TweakXP.com website. They have tons of stuff *grin* Am now learning how to tweak Windows Media player so I can rip mp3s ^^
