Had ze test today. It was o-kay, but I only realised my mistake after I passed up the paper. *sigh* Always happens, that ^^;;;

Anyway, dropped by Kino after my test to take a look at the books on sale. *grin* And guess what?! I saw Endless Nights, the latest installment in the Sandman series!!! *does a little jig of joy* Grabbed a copy immediately, and was practically floating around kino after that. *lol* Then I passed the Manga artbook section, and came across the new Matantei Loki Ragnarok artbook. *big sweatdrop* Was delibitating whether to buy it or not, and missed alex-chan terribly while doing so ^^;;;;;; We used to call each other out of the blue, wailing over the phone and asking the other side to decide whether to buy the book/object-with-nice-bishies-on-it or not. *lol* And this time round, she wasn't around to call, and I was left to decide myself, which felt rather lonely...^^; So I called Mad Hatter instead, and he churned out a few reasons why I definitely should get it, and I did (thanks for the advice, btw, JW ^^).

Endless Nights

Endless Nights is a beautiful, beautiful book. The cover is lovely, one of Dave McKean's best efforts, I must say. And the art inside was gorgeous. Every single page was lovely!! And the stories were fantastic!

Death's story was about a place/time in Italy where one particular day goes on forever, and its residents live a life of decadance.

Dream's story (my favourite) was set during the time when the Universe had just been born, and everyone, new suns, dimensions, planets and the Endless included, were meeting up to discuss their job scope. And you get to see our sun, Sol, as this bumbling kid who's just hoping and hoping that one of his planets will wake up so that he can see new lives. You also get to find out why Dream and Desire don't get along. *lol* My favourite quote here was:

Ambassador: I don't care if you are a dimension or not. if you're too small to be perceived, then I don't think you get to address the assembly.

Dimension: It's not a size thing. It's a matter of perception and respect.

*lol* Rather amusing, that *grin*

Then there was Desire's story about a woman who wanted something very badly - the art here was gorgeous! Delirium and Despair's stories were two very disturbing pieces on madness and fifteen scenarios of despair. But this is where Gaiman really gets philosophical and good. *grin* One of the scenarios he put up was that of an impossible exam paper, which struck a chord with me, naturally. *rotfl* All this was followed by Destruction's mild (compared with the others) tale which I still don't really the point of, and finally an elegant closure by Destiny's hand.

Beautifully crafted, this. My second favourite collectors' item after Dream Hunters. *grin*

Loki Artbook

The Loki artbook was also worth every cent. *grin* As always, Sakura Kinoshita's artwork is really nice. *grin* Now all I need is time to scan in everything...^^;;;;;; For those who collect Loki artbooks, I felt this one was more worth the money compared to the first. The art was nicer, for one, and there was more of Kakusei Loki this time round. *lol* And lots of cute Freyr-doing-stupid-things scenes. *lol*
