Sunday, August 10, 2003Orientation Week!Day 1 - Everything Hurts! Painpainpainpainpain. My whole body is aching from the countless activities we had to do. O_o The theme this year is LOTR. Am still very very miffed that the High Priestess Of Legolas was denied permission to worship her deity. 'Tis blasphemy!!! *mutter* Am a f***ing DWARF!!!!!! *growls* Was originaly Frodo, which wasn't so bad, then cos of a mistake, became a Dwarf called Cluna instead. Am still trying to figure out who da hell Cluna is. ((O_O)) Other than that gross error *mutters somemore*, the elves' cheers are ridiculous. I think I heard one that went, "Row row row your boat, gently down the stream, when you see a pretty elf, it's likely to be Legolas!" ^^;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; Or at least, I made up the pretty elf bit ^^;;;;;;;;; My guy friends who ended up in Arwen were also pissed. Since none of them are useless pretty elf maidens. ^^;;;;; And somehow our (as in all the races') liege lord was King Arthur Of Rohan O_O I mean, I know it's all in the name of fun, but a LOTR purist like me just can't help laughing ^^; Thought of a nice cheer for the Aragorn and Legolas groups too, while i was at it ^^; I thought it'd be a scream if they used Aragorn's "Still Not King" slogan...XD XD XD And the Legolas ones can be about him being a pwitty pwitty elf. ^^V And I think the hobbits' cheers started with "Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry Pie!" =_=|| As for the actual activities, we played the usual orientation games, though this was not as messy as my JC orientation ^^;; That one had MUD i tell you. TWO DAYS OF MUD!!! ^^;;;;;; Compared to that, water is like...nothing. ^^;;;; Played games late into the night, but it was really fun. I can't believe I'm so bloody enthusiastic about everything ^^;;;; Then again, it's not too bad, really *grin* Day 2 - Flag Day. (halp!!) Dragged my aching body out of bed today for the Flag Day at Orchard. *sigh* I hate flag days, did I ever mention that?! Had to wear some oversized orange shirt for the activity, which was a tad bit embarrassing...^^;;; Also got filmed together with other group members in orange shirt. Had to shout "Happy Birthday Singapore" and stick out some samples of quiltwork (which was made for the Singapore Quilt thingy) and smile. Which makes me wonder if the govt is getting desperate *lol* I mean, they have to practically beg people to wish their own country happy birthday ^^;;; so yes, will be on TV for about a second or too *sigh* ^^;;; After enthusiastically asking for donations (all the tourists resorted to donating then asking for directions) for about 2 hours, we went shopping. Then we went for lunch, which took another two hours, and then we went to play pool, which took up the rest of the afternoon. *sheepish grin* Well, I suck at Flag Days. Need I say more? ^^;; Oh but pool was fun! It was my first time playing, so I found it rather interesting. ^^ I sucked horribly at it though ^^;;;;;;;;;; Lost every single game! And my opponent was giving me like a hundred chances ^^;;;;;; Ah well. I guess the only ball games I can play are basketball and netball. ^^; Day 3 - Sentosa Today was Sentosa day!!! *mutter* I really detest that island. it's a bloody fake!!! ^^;;;;; Had lots of fun playing beach games though. But the water was really disgusting. Greenish, murky, and with unidentified objects floating around. O_o And it was damn hot. *sigh* Now I have a red nose. T_T Got to hear some hilarious cheers from the other teams. Gloin (gimli's father) had a really funny one. It went like this: leader: Gloin! How are you feeling to day?! grp: Ve-ry ITCHY!!! The entire group then went on to sing, to the tune of Yippee Yi-yi, "Itchy gloin-gloin, itchy-itchy gloin..." with the guys standing in a row and shaking their butts. ((O_o)) The most R(A) cheer ever. *ROTFL* In the evening, after dinner, all of us freshies were blindfolded and led around the beach area. Then we got sabo-ed big time by the seniors. O_o I was buried in sand, then I was dunked in sea water, then I had to grope around in a bucket of leftover food and water for things. EEEWWWWW. Am now half blind from the glare of the computer screen (after walking in the dark for so long) and wincing from the burns on my neck. ^^;;;;;; Day 4 - Amazing Race Today was supposedly the Amazing Race day. All the teams had to set out to find pitstops and perform certain tasks before collecting clues. However, my group was so dead from yesterday's activities we fast-forwarded through the entire race, only doing the easy tasks ^^;;;The guys in my group managed to get us easy jobs since they goaded the pretty stationmasters so much we practically got chased out *haha* Later in the evening, we were treated to a rock band performance. The band was rather decent, churning out all the popular rock songs. However, they had a few vocalists. The one I really liked only sang like three songs ^^;;; There was also one vocalist who performed a heavy metal version of Coldplay's Yellow, which was rather painful to hear ^^;;;; And another female vocalist surprised me by singing X Japan's Say Anything, which was ok if not for the fact that she kept wailing out the high notes. ^^;;;; After the band thing, we got to see the chairpersons of the orientation group sing for us. This bit was hilarious! They started off by singing BBMac's More Than Words, and then went on to belt out the oldie The Lion Sleeps Tonight. *ROTFL* The best part was, the poor guys were so hoarse from cheering, they barely had any voice left to sing. So both songs were performed with alternating bursts of melody and hoarse croaking/whispering. *lol* And after, that, there was some disco music played. That bit was totally boring. But I stood there and danced anyway since there was nothing else for me to do. I think I zoned out at that part. Any more repetitive dance music will positively kill me ^^;;;;;;;;;; After supper at a prata shop, we moved up to a deserted corner of the school to keep ourselves entertained till the next day. Started off by playing our own version of Truth or Dare - Truth and Truth. ^^; Yours truly was unlucky enough to get asked twice. *big sigh* Luckily my questions weren't as bad. *lol* The guys however, had to describe all their sexual fantasies *lol* This is when you see just how hentai all those NS-men are. *lol* The two guys who thought up the Truth questions even made up a scale for level of intimacy in a relationship. They split it up into four levels, and even acted it out!! ^^; The first level, Base 1, was holding hands. The two guys held each others hands and made noises for effect. *lol* The second, Base 2, was kissing. This time round, both guys mock-kissed each other, making loud noises as they went along. Then came Base 3. O_O This one was fondling/petting. To illustrate their point, one guy (the taller) started rubbing the shoulders of the other, and the shorter guy hovered his hand over the other guy's privates and mimed a groping motion. *ROTFL* This one was hilarious to watch! But the best was the homerun. *ROTFLMAO* They started making synchronised thrusting motions. *rotfl* The leader of the group wasn't satisfied though. *lol* His point being, two guys can't both do it in the same direction. *lol* So he requested the shorter bend over.......*ROTFL* Which earned a dirty glare from both guys. *lol* After that, some people decided to sleep, though a few of us opted to stay awake instead since we wanted to remain alert. So we played asshole taitee till the next day. ((O_O)) No prizes for guessing who was asshole half the time. -_-|| Day 5 - Rag Day IMO, this was a rather boring/hot day. I was half asleep half the time. As PL mentioned in her blog, the best floats were from the halls. They had these fantastic mechanical contraptions *in awe* But everything else was rather boring...*ho-hum* After that, met Alex-chan at KareKano to buy Loki Merchandise!!!!!!! *dances around* I got a nice Loki fan and nice Tactics shitajiki and postcards. *starry-eyed* Shall go to kino today to get my Loki artbook, since they are having a sale *yay* ^^ And that was my rather eventful one week. ^^;;; Am still sleeping off my sleep-debt.. ^^;; More later ^^; stardusted at 3:23 AM | link? 0 Call me number 1!© sephirot productions 2008 |
