another long reply to stejuste. I'm slowly, slowly, clearing my backlog ^^V

rotflmao!!!! i think you're corrupting me. i thought of the same thing as soon as i read the first part of your sentence about the soy bean association. except i had this mental image of those old disney cartoons, with mexican jumping beans in sombreros with six-shooters. *giggle!* :) how did the interview go? what did you mean by waste of time - as in you weren't interested or they weren't interested? :)

me, an innocent youngling, corrupting you? Never! *grin* *rotfl* Oh gosh, mexican jumping beans! *wipes tears from eyes* I now have an image of beans discussing business at the round table, and, at the same time, jumping. *buahahahaha* Well, the interview was a waste of time since it was exactly the same, word for word, as the phone interview he gave me two days ago ^^;;; I bet this guy has never hired temp workers before *lol*

LOLOL! that's what they all say. practice practice practice! unfortunately my practice just tends to repeat the same old mistakes. lazy habits. that's too funny about the right eye - i have that problem too! one eye always seems easier to draw than the other, i don't know why. the first one will come out nice, then the next one will look off. weird.

Honestly, pratice practice practice ^^V *lol* About the right eye, that is my pet peeve ^^;;; I cannot understand why I can't draw two identical eyes. *sigh* P'raps it's cos I'm right-handed...*tsk* This is the same reason why I never give away my artwork. I can't duplicate them ^^;;;;;; Which irks me, as always *grin*

oh no, you're getting older and mellowing. it's an insidious thing. soon you'll be joining us old fogeys in lounge bars instead of bopping the night away in clubs. *laugh* i can trace my descent into old age by my changes in music taste - from heavy metal to hard rock to soft rock to pop to classical and opera and mild jazz. ergh. :) it's interesting what you said about travis and coldplay because travis made me feel more depressed than coldplay did. maybe it's only because coldplay sounds more like matchbox twenty, so i'm more accustomed to that kind of sound.. i'll have to listen to more songs before i come to any real conclusions - i've only downloaded two songs each first. that streamload download quota bugs me to no end. i foresee myself giving in eventually and paying for an account :}

*mock horror* Oh no. I'm getting old! XD My ageing pattern's slightly different - Boyband pop to chinese pop to hard rock to heavy metal to classical to punk rock to gothic music to soft rock ^^;;;;;;;;;;; I think my ageing process is a little warped *rotfl* Yours just gets mellower while mine goes in all directions *grin*

As for travis and all, hmm, perhaps it's cos you've not heard enough ^^ Try the travis songs I recommended earlier. Those are the happy ones, and you'll get what I mean *grin* But it does take getting used to. I kinda hated soft rock while I was into the hard cos I felt it was too slow and boring ^^ I'm seriously considering getting another streamload account. The quota is driving me nuts, but, unlike you, I can't exactly pay for it *grin* My parents -must not- know of it *lol* Patience. Patience.. ^^;

rotfl! maybe i will like Hellsing. it seems fairly popular over here, i keep hearing about it. and your description of the music sounds appealing. i will check out kazaa lite too.

You will like it *nod nod* The only peeve is the sex-ratio. *sigh* There's only one bishonen in the entire show! There are, however, two pretty girls *mutter* Xephyris, on the other hand, is having a field day over that Ceras Victoria (this policewoman in short skirts) I reckon ^^ I was truly disappointed when I realised Integral (this rather bishie looking girl) was a girl *mutters somemore* There would have been this perfectly sweet yaoi story going on otherwise *gives xephyris dark looks*

trust me, 30 isn't enough. get yourself another drive and add it in! go for the 120, what the hell! :>

moolah dear. I can't afford a 120 *big grin* The 30 cost me quite a bit. I was stupid enough to get the most expensive one ^^;;

how do i survive? LOL! you said it - i would be in dire straits without a cdrw drive! actually, i was in dire straits, since my drive decided to die a slow and lingering death. the good news is that i caved in yesterday and bought a new drive. couldn't stand it anymore. *grin* probably a good idea after all, because of compatibility issues with xp/burner programs and so forth, i think even if i had waited till i got a new computer, i might have had trouble accessing my old discs on the new computer drive. i got this gorgeous tdk velocd usb 2.0 burner. 48x16x48!!! of course i don't have 2.0 on my old laptop so that's pointless, but it will be fast on my new puter *grin*

Good for you! Is your tdk burner that sleek blue model? I last saw the tornado drive. It was real cool ^^ I was rather amused when my win98 system accepted my new USB 2.0 card *grin* Thank goodness, or I'd have hell scanning all those pics *grinz* You know...I'd really really love an ibook or the fujitsu lifebook...*sigh* Really pretty computers, non?

anyway. the point about the good news is that i found that my new cdrw drive was able to read all the cds that i thought were somehow damaged. so i guess it must have been the failing laser on my old drive or something that was the real problem. i've only lost a few ebooks, from the very last burn set i made, because that was probably exactly when the laser died. so i have the entire ebook collection back again *beam*

Congrats! I know how you must feel. Something similar happend to me once, when I realised all the vcds I'd bought could not be read. I panicked until I realised this prog called cinematograph seemed to do the trick ^^;; Thank goodness. Or that'd be more money wasted ^^;

it's so huge it will take forever to upload though. i'm thinking if we're ever online around the same times, maybe you can just come get them directly from my fserve off IRC instead. or kazaa, once i get that set up. what do you think?

*lol* i think IRC would be best, since it's a little hard to find people in kazaa. You can only find files ^^; That'd be especially good too, since I can finally send you all those anime like X, hellsing and gravitation ^^V Prolly be easier send you the mp3s too ^_^ Streamload can drive people nuts ^^; When are you online? I'm usually online first thing in the morning at 10am all the way up to at night, though that depends. Do you have ICQ? Then it'd prolly be easier to know when each other's online ^^

come to think of it "oldies" can mean a lot of different periods now. i realized when i read that over that i was mostly thinking of the 80s when i wrote that *grin* although i do also like stuff from the 50s to the 70s. sadly, i do *not* like the beatles. for some reason they make me think of headaches in the afternoon. don't ask :> (i do like lennon's song "woman" though...) classical-wise i like the baroque period the most. piano/clavier/harpsichord, flute, used to love violins, still like strings as well. i agree about the melodious thing - if it actually has a tune i can hum to it's good *grin* i detest rap... especially what it's turned into nowadays. i'm also not hugely keen on jazz - i like the stuff i can pick up a melody on, but the "deep" stuff that goes all over the place, i can't get at all :)

Oldies for me usually means that abba/beatles period, whatever that is ^^ Influenced by my mom - she's a big fan of them. ^^

Ah, baroque period? I've never realy tried baroque. I remember the first baroque piece I had to play was rather odd and very chaotically tuneless ^^;;;;;; Never touched baroque again after that. *grin* Do you happen to have any good pieces/composers to recommend? I really love strings cos of the emotion the instruments can evoke in you. Very beautiful. *sigh* I especially love melancholic violin solos. Very gothic *grin* Funny though, I only really started loving classical music after listening to Malice Mizer. ^^;; Canon in D is my favourite too! And Chopin's Nocturnes and Etudes. I like it when he gets dramatic. ^^ Also love Vivaldi's Four Seasons. My favourite's Autumn.

As for jazz, I prefer it not too crazy, if you get what I mean. Norah Jones is fine. Those really fast jazz numbers give me a headache. Too fast and too chaotic. ^^;;; Is that what you mean by the deep stuff?

really??????? so there *are* black roses??? *boggle!* that's good to know. i'll keep my eyes out then :>

I'm not sure if it's the queen's garden or the windsor gardens. You'd have to check. All i can tell you is that they exist, and you can find them in europe ^^

*sputters indignantly* Hey! Look: Elf = woods. Woods = trees. Trees = green. Hence, elf = green. See, a perfectly logical relation! Am not obssessed! Am not! ^^

obsessed. obsessed. obsessed. obsessed. obsessed. :P heheheheheh!!!! :)

*mutter* Am not! *pout*

rie, do you do all your artwork on paper or do you ever do drawing on a computer? as in, with a tablet or mouse? have you ever tried oekaki?

Well, all my artwork is on paper using a mechanical pencil. I've ever tried drawing on the computer, but it turned out quite disastrous. The problem with computers is they do not allow you to 'feel' the drawing, so, in that sense, it's really difficult to get a good picture. Using a mouse is HELL. I ever tried painting one of my artworks before. It took me one entire week, and the result was less than satisfactory ^^;;;; I have a tablet, but I haven't really got the hang of looking at the screen while drawing on the tablet. Very difficult ^^;; And I'm too lazy to practice, as usual ^^V I find it hard since I'm used to connecting my line of sight with the pen-tip. With tablets, this is more than a little screwed up ^^;; Never tried oekaki either, since i'm not competent drawing with mouse or tablet *sheepish grin* My junior loves it though, and she's a very talented artist. You can take a look at her works at her blog. The link is called 'applesause' under 'friends'. She calls me qiongz-nee-sama. I'm touched *grin*
