*10 minutes later..*

As to why. Well, ain't it obvious? I've just watched LOTR for the second time. *beams*

Didn't post up any rants after watching the first time cos I was too smitten with Legolas to think coherently. (Ok, ok, that does sound more than a little farfetched - actually, I had to write that dratted essay, hence the delay. ^_^V) So here it is now. My rant. Major Drool Alert. *grin*

++Legolas++

This was what I was like in the cinema:

first time Legolas appears: *squeals* Omigawd! Legolas! *grabs friend's hand in vice-like grip*

second time he appears: *leans far out of seat* Le-go-las~ *_*

third time he appears, the part when he swings up the horse: *silly grin on face*

and yadda yadda yadda. As a result, I left the cinema as a melting heap of fan-goo. *sigh*

This has to be the bestest movie EVER! I mean there was plenty of legolas (100,000,000 points), and there were lots n lots of Aragorn/Legolas slash scenes (500,000,000,000 points). Then, there were the cool legolas battle scenes (500,000 points), and the few beautiful legolas-looking-angsty scenes (600,000,000 points). Which brings that up to a total of 500,700,500,000 points out of a total of 100. Full Score! *big silly grin*

Gosh. And he spent half the time running around, with his golden hair flying in the wind *_*

To those blind people, here were the more obvious legolas/aragorn scenes:

1. when aragorn and legolas were running together in the mountains with happy smiles on their faces while gimli was left trailing behind.

2. when legolas told aragorn 'You're late', and clasped his hand, the unsaid words between them being "I missed you, aragorn, I thought you died." and "I miss you too, legolas." *_*

3. When aragorn 'died' and legolas was looking down the cliff and angsting away. He was probably thinking "namarie, beloved." *swoon* (namarie does mean farewell, right? I'm not very sure bout this..)

4. When legolas told aragorn: "your friends are with you, aragorn.", thus, indirectly implying 'I'm with you, m'dear' *grin*

5. When aragorn was in the Helm's Deep armoury worrying, and legolas comes along to comfort him. *siiigh*

6. When legolas had a panicky look on his face after seeing aragorn being attacked by an uruk-hai.

Of course there were lots more, but these were my favourites *big grin* Stejuste, did you manage to catch all of them? Hmm? *hee* And no, pl, i was not seeing things that were not supposed to be there. Heck, it was so obvious, anyone would've seen it. *grin*

I was reading some Orli interview, and he mentioned how, when he got the role, he went out to buy a book on trees, his reasoning being "I'm an elf, and I'm supposed to know all about trees." *lol* There was lots more on how he went bungee jumping within an hour on reaching NZ, even though it was kinda forbidden. Nut. ^^;;

btw, on the way home, I also came up with a "You know you're smitten over legolas when.." list. *grin* All from personal experiences *heh heh* You guys are welcome to add more.

Well, here goes:

You know you're smitten over Legolas when:

1. You turn on the computer just so you can edit a pretty legolas picture such that it is the right size for your wallet. Then you print it out on the best paper you have, lovingly cut it out, and slot it carefully into your wallet. Yes, my wallet now has legolas looking at me everytime I open my wallet. *heh heh*

2. You buy a magazine just because Legolas is staring at you on the cover. *swoon*

3. You've read every single Aragorn/Legolas slash fic worth reading on fanfiction.net. You're now putting a search for 'Aragorn/Legolas slash fics' through Google cos you've run out of fics to read.

4. You search for good Legolas sites and bookmark every single one of them. ^^;; You also save every Legolas pic you come across into your archive. Then you lovingly rename them as "prettylegolas", "Droolsomelegolas" etc.

5. You squeal, hyperventilate and swoon, in that order, everytime he appears on screen. It gets so bad that you can watch the same LOTR trailer for two hours and, at the end of that, you still get excited watching it all over again cos you know that Legolas Is Going To Appear.

6. You start begging your friend to get you that pretty legolas poster for your birthday.

7. You can stare at his eyes forever. Which reminds me of the song 'Can't take my eyes of you.'

++Faramir++

Surprisingly, one of the new good-lookers *grin* However, it seems that I'm the only one who thinks so ^^;;; But he IS cute! *grin* Isn't he? I particularly loved his accent. Am looking forward to his bigger role in the 3rd movie. Oh yes. *grin*

++Haldir++

Why oh why did he have to die? *makes a face* And why did they have to make it so damn dramatic? I really didn't need to see that. I hate seeing elves die >.<

I did think the person acting haldir was a litle round. Otherwise, he could have been cute. ^^;;; While watching it the second time, I couldn't help thinking about Haldir/Legolas slash. My friend was gushing to me about that for a very long time. I still do not see the possibilities. I mean, he dies. There is no future for such a tragic love story! Nah. Legolas/Aragorn slash forever! ^^V

Oh, and can someone clarify this for me? Is haldir a rivendell or lothlorien elf? I thought he appeared in lothlorien in the first movie, as one of Galadriel's men. How is it that in this movie, he says that he is sent by Elrond of rivendell?

++Gollum++

Yup. This character has to be the best CGI character I've evr seen. He beats Yoda and that icky Dobby hands down! He was very realistic and emotional. Cool animation! I didn't know computer animation could get so good. *grin* I thought the part where he started singing his fishing song was rather funny *grin* And the part where he was arguing with san over how to cook *lol* Yup. I totally agree that Andy Serkis should get a prize. He deserves it.

++sam/frodo slash++

Did anyone catch the "It's your sam! Frodo!" part? *big grin* My friend and I were predicting just how many fics will come up just because of that line *lol*

++gandalf/shadowfax++

I love the horse. I really do. *sigh* If only I had a horse like -that-. I was very amused with gandalf's hair. Like my friend says, he straightened and bleached it! Vain old git. *lol*

++the soundtrack++

I loved the songs. i thought this one sounded better than the first. My current favourite is the 'Horsemen Of Rohan', the one with a violin solo. Nice.

+=Aragorn++

He was much cleaner here. Way to go, Aragorn! *grin* You know, i was reading his interview, and it seems that he really did not bathe for quite a few days while filming. There were times when he'd just go off camping in his costume. O_O. He also mentioned how, while driving home from the set, he accidently killed a rabbit. He then proceeded to set up a fire by the road to roast the rabbit and eat it. ((O_O)) He's nuts, that Viggo Mortensen. And all he could say about the rabbit was "It was really fresh." Gosh.

Right. I do think I've gone long enough. ^^;; Junwen, if you're wondering why I'm so much more verbal here instead of in my essays, well, what can I say? Writing about LOTR just seems waaay more interesting ^^;;; And yes, you are welcome to use my comments box to ask stejuste questions *grin* You can go to her pg you know. ^__^
