Sunday, December 01, 2002++replies to stejuste++*grumble* i was excited for about one minute. then i encountered repeated problems trying to load the pix. must have been my popup-killer program interfering again. i'm beginning to wonder whether it's worth it :} :) *lol* heh. This shows that sometimes it pays not to have a pop-up killer *grin* can't you just turn it off for a bit? a confession thingy?!! whoooooooo! i got so excited over that i rushed out to find translations. found a nice big fat bunch of translations. i'll turn them into an ebook to read at my leisure once i have a free moment :) yes, you're right, it's 13 eps. i found that out on some super-detailed fansite. god bless fanatical fans :) the manga seems to have gone on forever. my fingers died downloading all the translations. and i finally saw this Sohryu person (i don't know what the right spelling is, that's how the fansite spelled it so i'm copying them) and you're right, he's cute! we seem to have the same taste. notice they all kind of look alike - sohryu, oriya, etc :) another one i like is Gren, from Cowboy Bebop. he has the same kind of look, too. *lol* Yeah, basically we like guys with long hair, piercing eyes and who look just so damn good *grin* Like I said, we've got good taste. ^o^ Check out the other 11 'gods' too! I think Byakko (the white tiger) is really funny. He's as nuts as tsuzuki! And check out Hisoka's father. Mmmm. Bi-sho-nen~ ^o^/ The current volume ends off with him being, uh, taken advantage of by a demon *hentai grin* rotflmao!!! that sounds pretty funny :) i actually downloaded translations for Gravitation a long time ago and never got around to reading them. i may have to start now :) for some reason i was thinking it was about schoolkids or basketball. i must have got it confused with Slam Dunk *grin* *lol* it's no where near slamdunk! *grin* It's about music, dear, music! ^__^ One funny thing about the OVA is the fact that the producers only composed 3 songs for the two bands in the story, so they keep playing the same song and the same footage over and over again everytime there's a performance *yawn* Otherwise, the chibis are hilarious! Way more so than the manga itself. *heh* And their manager, K, is a lunatic! *rotfl* He gets things done by threatening people with his gun collection *lol* c'est la vie, c'est la guerre.. :} :) what does guerre mean? LOLOLOL! oh no! you got it backwards!!! *laugh* that's too funny. i think it would have totally ruined my Matrix experience if that had happened to me. thank god i saw it the other way around. i much prefer the Matrix to LOTR anyway :> Nonono. I like LOTR better *grin* Maybe it's cos I like fantasy better than sci-fi ^^ But i love matrix alot too! It has to be about the best sci-fi movie I've ever seen! And Keanu Reeves looks really good in his cape. LOLOLOL! believe it or not, i wasn't thinking of anything naughty. i was actually imagining wrinkles in bizarre places, like hanging off an ear, or at the tip of a chin, or on a nose... you get the idea. sort of Xanth-like. maybe i shouldn't be trying to complete the entire Xanth series in one go. it's having a bad effect on my punny bone :> *rotfl* Wrinkles hanging off the ear?!!!! *lol* What's Xanth about? you know what, i don't remember Legolas in elvish robes. *scratching head* i'll have to watch it again. i didn't really get to enjoy LOTR properly because i spent the entire movie comparing it in my head to the book and thinking about what was changed etc. so i couldn't immerse myself properly in the flow of the story. still don't remember Glorfindel but i do remember Arwen hardly had a role at all. she had a footnote, i think! *lolololol!* i'll have to re-read it at some point to see if i can find poor old Glori :) Tsk. I've figured that you'd probably enjoy the movie better if you didn't read the book yet *grin* Which was what I did. It makes reading the book less boring when you've got lil' legolas and lil' frodo running around in your head *lol* I'm trying to refrain from reading book 2 before watching the movie now. *heh* *squeals in mock-shock* How can you miss Legolas in Elvish robes?! O_O He looked so so so good there! *lol* *laugh* now i'm feeling guilty for depriving the authors of their $$. well, just try to buy something from them when you do have money to spare, okay? :> i love ebooks for the same reason. i accumulate books so quickly that i run out of storage space and ebooks solve that quite handily. plus it's wonderful to be able to carry several hundred books with you on your PDA when you travel. i always had a problem with running out of reading material when travelling - it's such a pain to carry a bunch of big fat books around everywhere. now i can have a whole library with me all the time *beam* :) Nah, don't worry. i do buy the books *grin* I strongly believe in supporting good authors and good music, unless I'm really really really broke, like now *grin* Yup, I love the way that you have 10 books at hand wherever you go. It sorta reassures you since you know that you'll never, ever get bored *grin* *cough* if you want Lackey books... *cough cough* give me a list first, maybe i have some of what you want *grin* (beginning to feel like a dealer here) *laugh* i see from your latest entry that you've taken care of your shopping spree at Kino already :) i didn't know there was a YNM calendar. please tell me where, maybe i'll get one too if it's good *grin* *laughs* Nah, won't want to touble you ne! I'll put up a search on irc myself sometime *grin* But I've read one of the Lackey books i mentioned earlier. I finished it in the library, and I've come to the conclusion that Lackey really, really should stop writing. The book was horribly boring! It was about Skif, whom I think appeared earlier in the Arrows series. Lackey is beginning to sound like she has this template which she pastes into each book, and all she has to do is change the names and think of another angsty beginning for the eventually heroic, not to mention stupidly sacrificial herald. Tsk. I wish she'd stop writing about Heralds! I think she's pushing it! She's obviously running out of ideas! She should start writing about the Tayledras, since she's never written anything about them before. I for one would like to read about Firesong *lol* As for the YNM calendar, I'm only getting it next month. I'm not sure what it looks like, but you can apparently order it from Kino. And I think it's a small-ish calendar. ^^ Tigana - read that at the recommendation of an ex while he was still not an ex. should have known i wouldn't love it, his taste always was a little too sombre for me. guy gavriel kay is not one of my favorite writers... sigh.. Count Cain - erp. i must have got some really bad translations off the net coz the stories made no sense to me at all. it sounds like a reaaaallly bizarre gothic story. And i really didn't find any yaoi in the trans... maybe it only shows in the pix? or i downloaded the wrong eps??? LOLOL!!! :) Aww, but I love it! *grin* I like the plot, and the way Kay brings everything together into one big tapestry. But I agree that it's very solemn and heavy. There's no comedy or heroics. It's just lots of play with the language. Yup, Count Cain is yaoi. Well, at least it's more openly yaoi compared to AS. I haven't read it, but it's some sort of mystery-cum-gothic story. ^^;; congrats on obtaining your freedom at last! :) Thanx! ^__^ i did see Vampire Hunter D, a colleague lent the video to me a while ago. and you are right, i quite liked it :) i thought the girl was a twit (the blonde bimbo with the braids, am i alliterating?) but the vampire girl wasn't too bad, at least she had guts. that mouth on the hand was freaky as hell but amusing :) and i liked the bad guy flunky, but i can't remember why :) familiar shakespeare phrases/words - i know there were a hell of a lot of them, but of course now that you ask my mind is a complete blank *grin* the only thing that comes to mind at the moment is the bit about letting slip the dogs of war, which you still hear now and then (and c'mon, if def leppard used it... !*grin*) if i ever re-read any shakespeare i'll post what i come up with. julius caesar has tons, i coulda sworn... :) *lolol* yeah, I thought the girl was irritating. I loved the hand thing. It's a rather unconventional talkative sidekick *lol* And one that is fairly easy to shutup too! You just have to push him right in *rotfl* I LOVED the bad guy *lol* The bad vampire I mean. I think he was called Myer Link or something like that. Wierd name ^^;; He's so cute! Looked a little like Lurius, come to think of it ^^;;;;;;;; Okok. I shall stop acting llike a smitten fan on overdrive *grin* I remember Caesar has lots of good insults and stuff. I loved Mark Anothony and Brutus' speeches. Nice stuff. ^^ stardusted at 4:38 AM | link? 0 Call me number 1!© sephirot productions 2008 |
