Kay's books really remind me of the Chung Kuo series. some authors just have no humor in them whatsoever. even though the books may be good, i just get depressed from too much unrelieved sombreness *grin* the Yaoi in Count Cain must be in the manga drawings, because i couldn't find the slightest hint in the text translations. sigh :)

*sheepish grin* Sorry dear, I told you wrong. ^^;;; The yaoi is not obvious, something like that in Angel Sanc. You've got to look. ^^;;;

you can push the face into the hand ????!!! i didn't know that!!!! i just got such a kick out of him, especially when D almost died and the hand pretty much saved his ass, eating earth and whacking him to wake him up. it was hilarious! which bad vampire, you mean the head of the household? the old guy???! i liked the sidekick bad guy, but i can't remember his name. and who's Lurius?

Yeah, he pushed the face into the hand when the face started talking too much *lol* Myer Link, like I said. The one who dresses like a prince. The one that kidnapped the girl *lol* And Lurius is Lucius. Typo. *sheepish grin*

did you know that neil gaiman's dad is a scientologist?

No, I didn't. ^^ Anyway, it doesn't show in his works at all. I've read almost everything. No hints at all ^^ So don't need to worry.

(re. YNM wallpaper) *grin* sadly, i can't remember where i got it from now. however, i can upload the file for you if you like *gringrin*

Of course, if it's not too much trouble *lol* I do have a rather interesting fanart of Tatsumi and Tsuzuki kissing, can email it to you if you want it. ^^

blackmask is one of my absolute favorite sources for free books. it's amazing how many legal *g* ebooks there are, that are out of copyright and open for distribution. i, too, snapped up all the Nesbit books *chuckle* i was deliriously happy to find those. also the Anne of Green Gables series - i don't think he has all of them, but i managed to get the entire Anne series eventually, from him and various other sources. i often wonder what the owner of Blackmask actually does in real life. i am really in awe of how he manages to keep producing so many ebooks so quickly. i hesitate to say the man has no life, but he definitely has to be (a) very efficient (b) very fanatical or (c) very free *grin* :)

*rotfl* i imagine he's all three, yes? I was very surprised about the Nesbit books too! Didn't even dream of getting them there *lol* V. v. grateful *lol*

No, I have never seen Neil talk about Scientology anywhere - which is why Im still buying his books. If he ever started spouting rubbish and promoting that cult, I would stop buying his stuff immediately. I actually got this bit of trivia from various writings about scientology. apparently, if accurate, his dad is an oooold, long-time member and fairly high up in scientology. and Neil was brought up in it, as scientology kids generally are if they're born into it. i find it interesting that he seems to have managed to dissociate himself from them quietly without running into trouble with them, but then again it is said that they give celebrities much better treatment, as a trade-off for the publicity that they can get. Im quite fascinated by cults and brainwashing etc, and i like reading about the moonies, the hare krishnas, etc etc etc. i find it amazing how people can get taken in so easily. often it's people you would never expect - reasonably well to do, intelligent people. i guess they have more time to waste than poorer people, who would dismiss such stuff and have no time for it :)

Maybe sometimes, it's those people whom we think have everything who have needs to fulfil. It's like you have everything, but you want more. Actually, I need a little clarifying here - what exactly is Scientology? I'm a bit blur about their beliefs ^^;; I'm not fascinated with cults, rather, I'm terrified. ^^ The power they have over people is crazy, how someone can force people to believe his ideas wholeheartedly is more than a little unnerving. ^__^;

On the other hand, Im fascinated with religion and mythology. I used to read my big book of Greek Mythology until the book became really tattered. ^^;; I loved the Odyssey! And Norse mythology etc. ^^ Im also very interested in the ancient civilisations such as the Aztecs. ^^ I once saw a very interesting documentary explaining all these ancient peoples (Egyptians, Aztecs, druids etc), and introducing a theory that all these people had valuable knowledge passed on to them by an advanced and lost civilisation. It seems that this civilisation sent its people out on boats to explore the world, and on the way, they sort of passed on knowledge like math and astrology to the other people that they met. This theory is supported by the fact that all the ancient civilisations that I mentioned above have similarities in their metric system, religious icons and other things, too much to be a coincidence, especially since these civilisations had no contact with the outside world. Interesting, non? I tend to believe this, since it makes a lot of sense. *grin* My dad, however, believes it is due to aliens from outer space *lol*

The documentary went on to explain the mysterious Egyptian pyramids and the temples of the Aztecs. It seems that on the two equinoxes of each year, the sun strikes the Sun Temple of the Aztecs in such a way that a shadow in the shape of a snake (the icon of the sun god) is cast on the floor. Apparently, also, the pyramids of the Egyptians trace important constellations in the sky. Cool right? But the coolest was this : Theres a particular Aztec temple that

thanks for identifying the layout for me! i had no clue who this character was. i got the scan from Yaoi Shrine, and of course it's in my Poison Artbook, but there's no ID and of course i can't read japanese... so he gets killed off almost immediately? that's too bad! he actually looks a little young for my taste, but what i loved about the pic was the expression in his eyes. he has such a naughty, knowing sort of look on his face! i found it quite irresistible, even though i don't actually like his looks. not my type. *heh* :)

Actually, he was the Demon Lord before Laures. He forced Laures to become his heir by killing Laures' beloved. Then Laures killed him and became the Demon Lord. *lol* He only appeared in about 30 pages or so, and looks a little too girly for me ^^ I'm not sure what his name is, I only know I was fairly irritated by him *lol*

i have heard of Ludwig II but never seen it. i think i got hold of some translations recently though. haven't read them yet. is it good? i gather it's yaoi? the pix Ive seen on the net generally show two guys together... Im not very keen on the historical setting though... well, Ill see what it's like when i read the translations.

It's GOOD. It's -very- good. It's also YAOI. *rotfl* Stress the word YAOI. *heh heh* Basically, it's a story about Ludwig II and his lover. Apparently based on the real-life story of King Ludwig II himself. One of the sweetest and most tragic shonen-ai stories I've ever read, complete with the strategically placed clouds of steam. *rotfl* Try to get the art though, this comic has more pictures than words and you might not understand it all just by looking at the translations. You've got to see the hurt on their faces to fully appreciate it. *lol* Seimaden's yaoi too, but it only occurs later in the story.

and oops, i guess this counts as another long reply. *grin* i bet the look on your face was the same as when i checked out your blog after my little "busy period" and found your loooong loooong replies that i had to answer! hahahahahah!!! and i still owe you and plhu email answers, too, oh my god!!!! maybe i will be able to do a marathon typing session this weekend *grin*

You guessed right. *lol* I'll continue to wait patiently for your email *lol*

*phew* that was my long and rather unorganised reply to stejuste. I tried to categorise it, as you can see, but I got tired of it. *lol* So yes, happy reading, hope you didn't get sore eyes! *lol*
