Tuesday, October 29, 2002^_________________^/ HelloooOOOO~~~~~!!!!!!!*grin* feeling just a little wonker-bonkers today. Okay. More than a little. Just spent a long time filling up application forms. Boy, am I glad that there's such a thing as online applications! I think I would be dead if not for them *big sweatdrop*. I'm in a ranty mood today..so yeah, RANT WARNING. *grin* First up, here's a big -HI- to junwen! *waves* A fellow sandman nut, he is. *grin* I'll put up the link to his blog soon, as soon as he gives it to me. ^^; ++selectors++ Secondly, actually did quite a few selectors: What Obscure Animal are you? What Spooky Being are You? Take the Purrsonality Quiz! Which Graduation Girl are you? *lol* I was very amused with this. Here's what the webowner says: "About Rika - Rika... is crazy. she's supposed to be like the cutesie one but she goes a little overboard o_o; She is really really cute, though. She's popular with all the girls but it's hard to keep her on task in her studies. " O_O I do agree that i'm almost crazy. But I am not cute. I'm gothic. Scary. Black. Broody. Gothic. *mutters* The studies part is right though. I do have a very short attention span. *sigh* Who are you? ++esplanade++ Thirdly, an account of the opening of the new Arts centre in Singapore - the Esplanade. To stejuste, it's this big -thing- that looks like a pair of fly's eyes. Seriously. But at night it looks much much better. Thank goodness. Here's the link to the official site. There's some pictures. Better than mine at any rate. Mine was totally screwed. T_T Btw, I actually wrote this like 2 weeks ago, so forgive me for the time lapse. ^^;; WOW. I'm speechless. The fireworks at the opening ceremony of the Esplanade, Singapore's version of the Sydney Opera House, was B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!!!! It was 30 minutes of fireworks, along the entire stretch of the Sheares Bridge; you know, that sort of continuous left-to-right and right-to-left type of rally? Yeah. In all sorts of colours. There was purple, and green, and red, and even this really pretty gold-champagne colour. There were periods where so many fireworks were going off at the same time that night became momentarily day. Cool! And there were small little boats in the river decked with giant orchids. Pretty. However, they were engaged in this silent water ballet which I absolutely could not appreciate. It went something like this: Boats come in, boats go out. Boats come in, boats go out...you get the idea O_O; I was lucky enough to get a seat at the riverbanks, where it was really dark. So naturally, I had a perfect view. ^^ No tall guys, no body odour, just the light breeze. Perfect, non? Then add the beautiful Esplanade, Fullerton Hotel and the pier, and you've got a postcard-worthy picture. ^_____________^ The above fireworks were at 10.15 at night. After that, I stayed behind for this acrobatics performance by an Australian troupe. I had to wait for an agonising 45 minutes before the show started, and all the while, there was this irritating jazz band nearby that Just. Wouldn't. Stop. Argh. Jazz is nice, but listen to similar songs for about 45 minutes, and you would feel very sick. Honest. The show, when it finally started, was interesting. They had a guitarist churn out very interesting and rather tuneless guitar riffs for a full one hour. ^^ It was music to my ears, honestly, after all that jazz music. And the performers only wore briefs. Serious. And one of them even had a -hole- in his briefs. I have no idea if it's deliberate. *big sweatdrop* The rope-guy was amazing. He literally -ran- up the rope, which earned lots of 'oohs' and 'ahhhs'. There was another funnier stunt, where this guy acted out '24 hours on a single rope'. He was quite impressive - he managed to eat, drink, sleep and dress while balancing on one rope, all the while deliberately shaking the rope to make himself look clumsy. All in all, it was a deliberately 'mad' performance, where the performers went out of their way to look cranky. I loved it, but comparatively, I think I prefer the theatrics of Alegria by Cirque Du Soleil much better. Besides, all the guys had disgusting beards. Yuck. *grin* That was all I managed to catch. And I only managed to reach home at 1am. -_-|| Am really really groggy now, shall go sleep. Take care guys! ^___^/ ++++ Hmm...Oh yes. Managed to read off the entire Coraline from the bookstore. Go me~! It's really short, about 100 pages, and the words are BIG. I also got quite a few stares from the kids and parents around me who were looking at "the tall jie jie(big sister in chinese) reading a kid's book." But it was a nice book! I really loved it. A tad too simple though. But the idea was good - an 'other' family world where the people all are 2D and have black buttons for eyes. I highly recommend it as a quick read to all the busy people out there. Also bought "Death: The High Cost of Living". Death is soooo pretty!!!! *sigh* I'm wondering though, that man with the dirty hair called Eremle or something, is he from the land of necromancers? Someone please confirm this with me, thanx! La dee dah. Ok. Last thing before I hit the books. Got the pix stejuste! Thank you so much! Haven't had time to look at them though...I tried to download the movies in school. But the stupid comp was naughty. *kicks it* So I guess I'll try again tomorrow. I do so want to see YnM clips. *_* Also realised that L'arc~en~Ciel's old albums, Tierra, Heavenly and True are lovely albums. They're very jazzy and malice mizer-baroqu-ish. ^^;;;; Not a very nice way of putting it, but I guess some of you get it, yes? It's very condusive for studying and relaxing, so I strongly recommend it. ^^ Here's some favourites: (+ means very very very nice. ^^) Secret Signs Vivid Colours C'est La Vie+ Cureless Hitomi ni utsurumono White Feathers Natsu no yuutsu+ Kaze ni kienaide kaze no yukue lies and truth the Fourth avenue cafe Nemuri ni yosete+ Flower+ And she said+ I wish+ Wind of Gold Yes.
