++Suede Concert++

OMIGAWD!!!!!!!!!!! BRETT ANDERSON IS SO CUTE!!!!!!!! OMIGAWD OMIGAWD OMIGAWD!!!! *grin* I did promise AA that i'll type part of my review in block letters. But honestly, he was SO CUTE!!!! And such a beautiful beautiful voice...*_* I was a very very lucky fan, albeit a rather guilty one. *sheepish grin* It all went like this:

-6pm-

Reached the studio, which was flooded with lots of people! I really didn't expect such a crowd. Got my passes, which were really little green badges with the word suede on it. A perfect souvenier. Then, we joined the queue for seats. ^^;;; It was LONG. Heard some people had been queuing since lunchtime. O_O

-7pm-

Found ourselves still waiting. Realised that the show would only start later. Was stuck between 2 gangs of smokers. >.< Felt really sick and tired and pissed, cos i was wasting precious time stoning there. We became -the- exhibit as staff walked in and out of the building.

-7.30pm-

Got fed-up. THe media people (blueys) got to go in earlier than any of us (greenies)! What happened was we (all the people in the queue) decided to walk in anyway, cos it wasn't fair. ^__^/

-7.45pm-

Found ourselves in another queue, but this time in an air-con room. So. No smoking. ^^;; And nice carpet to sit on. Greenies were cutting queue everywhere, so we joined in. One bluey behind us was commenting on our rudeness, but we couldn't care. Suede comes first. ^_____^

-8pm-

The queue finally started moving. Thank goodness we cut queue! Found ourselves being one of the lucky few who got to sit in the special restricted area - I was lke 2.5 metres away from Brett Anderson!!!!!!!!! *_* Found out we were going to be the few who will be on tv. *whee* Was beginning to get a little irritated at the emcee's lame jokes.He mentioned something about all the people who were sitting where we were being die-hard fans. I got a little guilty here, cos i've only heard like 3 of they're songs. ^^;;;

-8.30pm-

Finally. The concert began. Brett came out, and everyone screamed themselves hoarse. I was too busy hyperventilating. Brett looked so good!!!! The only problem was his hair - short and masculine. Not androgynous. *sigh* But he looked good! Those legs! They must be a mile long! O_O Nice and long, like sugi's...*drool*

They started off with 2 new songs, of which i have no idea what they are. ^^;;; Then they began on Everything Will Flow, my absolute favourite! People gpt really high after that. This was an acoustic version, though, but it was good. His voice was so so beautiful. Then they launched into some old songs like The Wild Ones, of which I only recognised one. ^^;;; The new guy, Alex Lee, was cute. ^^ Brett said he wished he could bring us with him on all their performances, cos we were such good fans. *aww* Then he asked how many singaporeans there were. Everyone raised their hands (duh. I mean, they were in hot and sunny singapore for goodness sakes ^^;;;) Then he laughed and said "Lots of them." in that nice brit accent.

Half way through, the band walked off, Brett remained though. He said the band needed their cigarrettes cos they were part-timers. *lol* He launched into a beautifully sad version of Patience (sp?) which is apparantly not on any album. It was a wonderful song - just Brett's haunting voice and a acoustic guitar. I sorta melted into it. I heard some mention of oceans here.

After a few more songs, they went off, and then came back for three more encores ^_^ I'm not sure of the first 2, but the last was a beautiful version of She's in Fashion. Everyone started to sing along, while i tried to learn the lyrics in sonic speed. Luckily, i got it in time for the end bit, where it became just him and us singing. Cool. ^^ It was very magical, him closing his eyes and singing *sigh* This really reminded me of Glay's concert when they were singing I'm in Love. The feeling was also something like Luna Sea's last concert when they were singing Love Song. It was a sad thing he had to go...*sigh* But they did, ad we ended at like 9.30pm. Not bad for a preview. ^^

And that, my patient friends, was a very unhelpful review to satisfy my fangirl tendencies.

Some randomness. Brett was amusing in the way he kept fiddling with the 100 knobs and bolts on his mike stand. It was constantly not -just-nice- for him. You could almost see him thinking 'f**k' while singing. ^^;;; First he lowered it, then it became too low. So he raised it. Then it was too high. Then he gave up, and just took the mike and threw the stand aside. Then he got tired and decided to use the stand again. Then the whole cycle started all over again. *haha* There was once when he left the mike stand in front of him, then decided it was blocking him, and proceeded to push it all the way down so people could see his face. *grin*

He was cute in the way he bowed after each song - like a medieval minstrel with a mischievious smile. He bowed in the old way - i can't really describe it, it's the type when they bend real low with both hands swept out. Reminded me of a vampire for some reason.

All in all, it was a good concert. Me and AA were grinning for no reason on the bus. We couldn't wipe that silly grin off our faces, no matter how we tried. ^_________^ I think he has one of the best voices i've ever heard! It has a lilting, haunting quality to it. I love it. ^__^

This drained and exhausted fan shall now proceed to sleep. ^__^ Cheerio~
